Overview

Hoi An is 30 kilometers south of Da Nang city. Historically, it’s a bustling trading port where Asian, European merchants buy and sell spices, silk, etc. Its golden age lasted from 15th to 19th centuries. Today, Hoi An is known as one of the most famous tourist destinations in Southeast Asia, and pedestrian-friendly. Visitors will walk around it to see streets, temples, bridges, life of people, and especially lanterns in the night. The lanterns are hung up in houses, markets and float on the river, making the scene very iconic. On the full moon, a monthly lantern festival takes place and many open-air activities are organized, like singgings. Hoi An becomes atmospheric and marvellous during this time. Taking a sampan boat ride along the canal allows you to enjoy this beauty from a different point. Additionally, visitors have the chance to taste many local dishes and buy souvenirs.
