Hoi An Old Town Walking Tour
By the Thu Bon River, Hoi An is the best-preserved trading town in South-east Asia. Thrived between 15th and 19th centuries, this international hub of commerce drew foreign merchants coming to trade whose nationality were Chinese, Japanese, Dutch, Portuguese and more. Lost its important role in the end of the nineteenth century, architectural heritages and culture of local inhabitants in Hoi An today are still unchanged. Besides places included by the entrance ticket*, the guide also recommends other highlights to allow travelers to know different slices of the town. There are lots of opportunities to photograph, taste local street foods and buy souvenirs while wandering around lantern-lit streets.

River Boat Ride to release lanterns
Enjoy a leisurely ride on the sampan along Hoi An canal, and light up a candle lantern by yourself and drop down to the water. The activity is linked to local Buddhist culture for a very long time and practiced most in the full moon.

In the sightseeing itinerary of Hoi An Old Town, temples and pagodas are included. Therefore, visitors need to wear respectively, just to make sure that airmpits, navel and knees are covered. If prefering a sarong instead of wearling long clothings but don’t have, it’s sold many around the town. Good shoes, sun glasses, sun cream, hat/chap and rain poncho (rainy season only) are necessary.
