Departure & Return
Tour guide will be in the hotel reception at 8 a.m in Da Nang and 7:30 a.m in Hoi An. Then, the driver transfers to Hue via Hai Van Pass, Vietnam’s best coast road. After touring the heritage city to sightsee its highlights, he rides back to Da Nang but via Hai Van tunnel. Travelers can tell him to drop off any place in the downtown (except Son Tra peninsula).

Hai Van Pass (with Stops)
20-km long and winding coast road of the Hai Van Pass is thebest in Vietnam. Its name means “the ocean cloud”. This world-famous place provides a fun ride along it, striking sceneries stretching from mountain to blue sea, usually soaked in mist. Scenic panoramic outlooks and the top where 19th-century gates & war bunkers stand, are recommended to stop.

Lang Co Lagoon
At the foot of Hai Van Pass, this blue brackish lagoon has a picteresque scenery. Its turquoise water is dotted with stilt house of local oyster farmers and fishermans. Visitors also love towering, wooded mountains of the Annamite Range with peaks covered by clouds, just behind. In the oyster season, locals remove the meat from shells by the shoreline, and sell for passerby.

Hue Imperial City (The CitadeL)
Hue Imperial Citadel is the first attraction in Hue. Located by poetic Perfume River, it played the role as seat of power from 1802 to 1945. This features a wall-within-wall structure, including two other enclosed grounds: the Imperial City and the Forbidden Purple City. Visitors can expect to see the most glorious buildings in this pair, from palaces, residences, temples, theatre, pavilions, landscaped gardens, red corridors and majestic Ngo Mon gate. Thien Mu Pagoda
Name of this 17th-century Buddhist temple is related to a legend about “the celestial lady”. Sitting on top of a gentle hill by the Perfume River, it comprises the impressive 21m-tall Phuoc Duyen Tower, one of Hue’s unofficial emblems. Behind, there are worshipping buildings, and the reminder about Thich Quang Duc monk who burned himself to protest in 1963 (the Vietnam war). Because didn’t have childrens, a king changed its name for 7 years.

Perfume River Boat Ride (optional)
Cruising the Perfume River by dragon boat is a must-know experience in Hue. The ride is from Thien Mu Pagoda’s pier to So 5 Le Loi pier. While being on board, visitors will see the city and life of people from a different perspective.

Return to Da Nang via Hai Van tunnel, the South-East Asian longest road tunnel.

Frequently Asked Questions
Imperial City, the Buddist temple and the emperor tomb require a dress code. In particular, travelers need to wear respectively and asked to cover armpits, navel and knees. See-through garments are not thought to be not proper to get on worshipping places. Many people choose a shirt and an above-the-know pant, and put a long piece of cloth to use later. There are no sarong or other coverings available inside the attractions, so need to buy if don’t have. On the outside of their walls, it’s possible to seek.
In the dry season (from March to August), visitors should bring sun cream, sunglasses, lightweight and cool fabric clothings. In the rest of the year, known as the wet season, rain coats/umbrellas, waterproof shoes, and more layers are necessary to prepare once hitting the road.
