Hoi An

About Hoi An

Named by the lords, Hoi An means “peaceful meeting place”. Its heart is an old town where merchants from the rest of the world ever came to trade in many centuries. They loved good-quality silk and spices here really much. Today, there is easy to see the architecture left by Japanese, Chinese and French people around it. In 1999, this well-preserved traditional trading port was inscribed by Unesco as a world heritage site. During the night, millions of lanterns are lit and hung up in ochre yellow streets, making a sparkling and mythical world of lights; The scene already becomes an icon of Hoi An. Near the town, sandy beaches and nearly untouched countryside are traveler’s favourites.
